Coro Informal
Instalación sonora interactiva compuesta de 10 cajitas de madera, cada una contiene el grito y la ilustración de un vendedor ambulante. El visitante puede abrir y cerrar cada cajita para mirar su dibujo y liberar el sonido que contiene, decidiendo así el número de voces que componen el coro informal.
Las grabaciones se hicieron en colaboración con los vendedores de la calle Moneda, en el centro de la Ciudad de México. Las ilustraciones, presentadas en formato de postal, están inspiradas en una serie de postales parisinas de 1901. Cada dibujo está acompañado de las letras y la partitura del grito que se escucha.
Interactive sound installation made of 10 wooden boxes, each one containing the cry and the drawing of a street seller. The visitors are invited to open the boxes to liberate their sound and watch the illustration, deciding themselves the number of voices that will integrate the informal chorus.
The recordings have been done in collaboration with the street sellers from Moneda Street in Mexico City historical center. The illustrations are presented in a postcard format, based on an original series of Parisian postcards from 1901. The lyrics and the music score of the street seller calling accompany each drawing.
